- Who may qualify
- The following healthcare professionals are eligible to apply. Alaska Tier 1 healthcare professionals: Physician Dentist Pharmacist Nurse practitioner (DNP) Psychologist Alaska Tier 2 healthcare professionals: Nurse practitioner (NP) Physician assistant Dental hygienist Registered nurse Clinical social worker Physical therapist Marriage and family therapist Professional counselor Psychiatric nurse specialist Certified nurse midwife Advanced nurse practitioner (ANP) Behavior analyst Alaska Tier 3 healthcare professionals: Other practitioners not designated as either Tier 1 or Tier 2 healthcare professionals Tier 1 and Tier 2 practitioners require 50% direct patient care. Tier 3 has no direct patient care requirement.

Alaska State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)
Loan repayment assistance for certain healthcare professionals in exchange for working in a Health Professional Shortage Area of Alaska.
- Who may qualify
- The following healthcare professionals are eligible to apply: Alaska Tier 1 healthcare professionals: Primary care physician (MD or DO), including psychiatrist Pharmacist Dentist (DDS or DMD) Nurse practitioner (DNP) Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) Alaska Tier 2 healthcare professionals: Nurse practitioner (NP) Physician assistant Registered nurse Certified nurse midwife Clinical social worker (LCSW) Psychiatric nurse specialist (PNS) Licensed professional counselor (LPC) Marriage and family therapist (MFT) Dental hygienist
- Award or benefit
- Up to $35,000 a year for Tier 1 practitioners and up to $20,000 a year for Tier 2 practitioners. A 2 year commitment providing at least 80% direct patient care at eligible primary care, mental health, and oral health practice sites located in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area.
