Oklahoma Physician Assistant Loan Repayment Program
Loan repayment assistance for primary care physician assistants who agree to serve at approved sites in rural areas of Oklahoma, with a special emphasis on providing care for Medicaid and Medicare recipients.
- Who may qualify
- Eligible applicants are primary care physician assistants licensed to practice in Oklahoma and not currently practicing in a rural community. Eligible primary care professions include family medicine, geriatrics, general internal medicine, general pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology, general surgery, and emergency medicine.
- Award or benefit
- Physicians must agree to practice medicine at the contracted medical facility. The service obligation is year to year, with a maximum of 3 years. Year 1: Up to $10,000 Year 2: Up to $20,000 Year 3: Up to $30,000 Exact award amounts are based on the total of educational loans to be repaid and community match.

Oklahoma Physician Assistant Scholarship Program
Forgivable loans for physician assistant students who agree to serve in a rural community of Oklahoma upon completion of their training.
- Who may qualify
- Applicants must be Oklahoma residents who are currently enrolled in an accredited physician assistant program, have no other conflicting service obligations, and are not currently on a J-1 Visa. Applicants must have a 3.0 cumulative GPA to apply.
- Award or benefit
- Loans of up to $1,000 per month. Loans are forgiven at the rate of one month of service per month of the loan. One month of service in a rural community in Oklahoma is required per month of the scholarship.

Oklahoma Physician Loan Repayment Program
Loan repayment assistance for primary care physicians who agree to practice in approved rural communities in Oklahoma.
- Who may qualify
- Eligible applicants are primary care physicians in the areas of: Family medicine Geriatrics General internal medicine General pediatrics Obstetrics/gynecology Emergency medicine General surgery Physicians already serving in rural areas of Oklahoma are ineligible to apply.
- Award or benefit
- Up to $50,000 per year or $200,000 over a maximum of 4 years. Amounts are based on the amount of educational loans to be repaid.

Oklahoma Physician/Community Match Program
Financial assistance in the form of forgivable loans to primary care physicians who agree to practice in rural communities in Oklahoma.
- Who may qualify
- Eligibility includes: Not currently practicing in a rural Oklahoma community and desires to practice in an Oklahoma community that is participating in the match program Graduated from an accredited medical or osteopathic college and successfully completed a postdoctoral program in primary care or a primary care specialty as approved by the Oklahoma Health Care Workforce Training Commission (HWTC) Has not previously received funding through HWTC scholarship programs Has no other assistance which has a conflicting service obligation requirement Is not currently on a J-1 Visa
- Award or benefit
- A lump sum payment between $30,000 - $50,000 is provided when the physician begins practice in the matching community. A minimum 2 years of service is required for $30,000 loans, and three years of service is required for loans of $50,000. The loan is forgiven after completion of the practice obligation.

- Applicants must have received a dental degree within the previous 5 years. Preference will be given to graduates of the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
